About Committed2Care
We are Committed2Care, a home care agency working with people across Tamworth and the wider Staffordshire area. We visit people in their own homes, at the times they choose, to help with the parts of the day that have become difficult. Most of the people we support are older, and our carers help with washing and dressing, continence care, medication, preparing meals, shopping and housework, as well as sitting for a while with someone who lives alone. We also support younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and those coping with sight or hearing loss. In each case the practical help is only half of it. Knowing how someone likes their tea, which programme they watch and what they would rather manage themselves is what turns a visit into decent care. Dementia support asks something particular of a carer, so we prepare our team to work at the pace of the person, to use routine and familiar objects, and to stay calm when a day is a difficult one. For people with sensory loss we make sure our staff introduce themselves clearly, explain what they are doing and never move things without saying so. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
