About Acadia Support Services
Acadia Support provides care in people's own homes in Stafford and across Staffordshire. We support older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. We start from the view that most people know quite well what they need, and that our job is to listen first and plan second. Before support begins we sit down properly with the person, and with family if they want them there, and work out what would genuinely help. That might be help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals, shopping, getting out of the house, or a package that covers most of the day. Reliability is what we measure ourselves on. Turning up when we said we would, with someone the person already knows, matters more than anything we could write about ourselves here. We keep teams small around each person for that reason. Where we support autistic adults or people with learning disabilities, the emphasis shifts towards doing things with someone rather than for them, building confidence and keeping hold of independence. Where we support people with mental health needs, we work closely with the other professionals involved and try to be the steady, predictable element in the week. If you would like to talk about support at home in Staffordshire, please get in touch and we will be straight with you about what we can offer.
