About Person Centred Services
We provide care and support to people in their own homes in Leek and the surrounding part of Staffordshire. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. Our starting point is the person rather than the package. Someone from our team visits at home, meets whoever the person wants present, and works out what help would make a real difference and what they would rather carry on managing themselves. Out of that we agree a plan together, and it changes when life changes rather than when a review date comes round. Support may be a single short call each day, several visits covering personal care, medication, meals, housework, shopping and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. We would rather spend time helping a person do something themselves than do it quickly on their behalf. In a rural area, continuity takes planning rather than good intentions. We keep rounds tight enough that the same carers return to the same people and that visits are long enough to be worth having. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
