About Supported Futures
Supported Futures provides support in people's own homes in Cannock and the surrounding parts of Staffordshire. Much of our work is with adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs and people living with a physical disability, and many of those we support are younger adults. What support looks like depends entirely on the person. For one it may be help with cooking, shopping, laundry, bills and appointments. For another it may be support to use local transport, to get to a job or a college course, to join a club or to keep in touch with family. For someone else the important part is staff who understand how they communicate, what they find overwhelming and how they like the day to be ordered. Where somebody has a physical disability we help with moving safely and with the practical business of managing at home, and the right equipment and training are in place. For adults with mental health needs the most valuable things we offer are reliability and a calm, unhurried manner. We spend time getting to know a person before making plans, and we involve the people who know them best. Routines are respected, and when something has to change we explain it properly. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the support we offer.
