About AbleWay Support
AbleWay Support provides care in people's own homes across Rochdale and the surrounding parts of Greater Manchester, working with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with mental health needs, adults with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss and younger adults. Good home care has to fit an actual life, so we start by asking how somebody lives now and what would genuinely help. For some people that is a short call each morning so that washing, dressing and breakfast are manageable. For others it is support with medication, meals, shopping and laundry, help getting to appointments, or longer visits that give a family carer a real break. For younger adults it is often the practical support that makes work, study and independence possible. We try to send the same small group of carers to each person, because trust is built through familiarity, and that matters doubly for anyone living with dementia or with anxiety. Our carers are asked to look beyond the task in front of them, so if somebody is eating less, sleeping badly, becoming withdrawn or seeming unsteady, we want to know and we will raise it with the family and with health professionals as appropriate. The Care Quality Commission has not yet published an overall rating for us. In the meantime we are happy to talk openly about what we can and cannot do, to put our plan in writing and to let you speak to people we already support before you commit to anything.
