About Oak Support
We provide support at home in Twickenham and the surrounding part of Richmond, working with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Our work falls into two broad parts, and we do not pretend they are the same thing. For older people it usually means help with daily life so that somebody can stay in the house they know: washing and dressing, support with medication, meals, shopping and keeping on top of things. For younger adults, including people with learning disabilities and autistic people, it is more often about building a life of their own. Managing a home, getting to work, college or something they enjoy, handling money, keeping appointments and doing the ordinary things anyone would want to do with their week. In both cases we ask what the person actually wants help with before we suggest anything, and we try hard to send the same staff consistently. For autistic people in particular, a familiar face and a predictable arrangement can matter more than extra hours. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can call on. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for support at home, please get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can provide it.
