About Bluebird Care
Bluebird Care in Nottingham supports people in their own homes across the city. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, those with sight or hearing loss and younger adults. We think home care stands or falls on two things: turning up when we said we would, and sending somebody the person actually gets on with. So we spend time on introductions before care starts, keep teams small and local, and tell people in advance when a regular carer is away rather than surprising them at the door. Visits can be a brief call to prompt medication and check all is well, or longer periods of support for personal care, meals, shopping, housework, outings and company. For people living with dementia we hold routines and faces steady, because familiarity does more good than any technique. For those whose sight or hearing is failing it also means describing what is happening and keeping things where they are expected. Before anyone works alone they train with us, and they keep training afterwards, particularly around dementia, moving people safely and recognising when somebody is becoming unwell. We are a newer team here and have not yet had a full inspection of our own, which we would rather say plainly. Please ask us searching questions, and do speak to people we already support before deciding.
