About Creative Support - Services

We support people in their own homes across North Lincolnshire, working out of Scunthorpe. Much of our work is with adults who have learning disabilities and with autistic adults, alongside people managing mental health conditions, older people, and younger adults moving towards living independently. We start from what the person wants their life to look like rather than from a list of tasks. For a good number of the people we support, the point of our involvement is not to do things for them but to make it possible for them to do things themselves, and then to step back. That includes cooking, managing money, getting to a job or a course, using the bus, and dealing with the sort of everyday business that can be genuinely daunting on your own. Predictability matters a great deal in this work. Knowing who is coming and when, being told about changes in good time, and not having arrangements altered casually are often the difference between a manageable week and a difficult one. We take that seriously because the cost of getting it wrong falls on the person, not on us. We are not yet rated overall by the Care Quality Commission. We prefer to state that plainly. We are happy to be asked how we train and supervise our staff, and to be judged on what the people we support say about us.
