About Care MK
Care MK supports people in their own homes in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory loss and eating disorders. We assess at home, with whoever the person wants present, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. The plan is agreed rather than issued and it changes when circumstances do. Support may be a single short call each day, visits at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. Where somebody is living with an eating disorder we are patient at mealtimes, we do not make a performance of it, and we record what is actually eaten rather than what was offered. Across that spread of needs, training is a practical matter, and our carers have the knowledge for the people they visit before they go out. We hold onto continuity as firmly as the rota allows. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
