About West Lanc's Domiciliary Service
West Lanc's Domiciliary Care supports people in their own homes in and around Skelmersdale, Lancashire. We work with adults who have a learning disability or autism, providing the practical support that makes independent living work. Our approach is to support people to run their own lives rather than to run their lives for them. We ask what somebody wants their week to look like, what they manage well themselves and where help would make a real difference, then we build support around those answers. For some people that means assistance with personal care, medication, meals and household tasks. For others it means help to get out to work, college, clubs or family, or support to build skills around cooking, shopping and managing money. We adapt how we communicate to suit the person, and we take time to learn what helps someone feel settled and what causes them stress. Routines that fit the individual do far more good than any amount of policy, and we try not to let our own convenience shape somebody else's day. Keeping teams small matters a great deal here. People should not have to explain themselves to a new face every week, so we send staff who know the person and who are trained for the particular support they provide. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk about support.
