About The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse provides care in people's own homes in Morecambe and the surrounding parts of Lancashire. We support older people, adults living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Nearly everyone who contacts us wants to stay where they are, and with sensible support that is usually possible for far longer than families expect. For one person it is a short call each morning to help with washing, dressing and medication. For another it is several visits a day taking in personal care, meals, prompting and a bit of company. We agree the shape of it with the person rather than presenting a fixed package, and we review arrangements honestly when circumstances change. If somebody needs more from us we will say so, and if what we are providing has stopped matching the situation we would rather raise that than let it drift. Continuity is what we plan our rotas around. Personal care is much easier to accept from a familiar face, and a carer who knows somebody's usual self notices quickly when they are unwell or low. The Lighthouse does not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, so we cannot point you to one. We are happy to explain how we work and to answer whatever you want to ask before you decide anything.
