About Spotlight Case Management

That might be the effects of a serious injury, a long term condition or a disability someone has lived with for years, and it often involves several professionals, funders and family members all with a view. Our role is to make that coordinated rather than exhausting, and to keep the person firmly at the centre of it. In practice that means agreeing what good support actually looks like for this person and this household, arranging and overseeing the care that follows, keeping in step with therapists, nurses and doctors, and reviewing honestly whether what has been put in place is working. Where equipment, adaptations or a change of routine would make life easier, we say so. Where something is not working, we would rather hear about it early and change it than defend a plan for its own sake. We work on the principle that a person is entitled to run their own life. Support should widen what somebody can do, not shrink it, so we plan around the things that matter to the person, whether that is work, study, family, driving, sport or simply being able to get out of the house when they choose.
