About Elderglow Care
We are Elderglow Care, a home care agency supporting adults in Burnley and the surrounding part of Lancashire. We visit people in their own homes, providing the help that makes staying there workable. We support older people and people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need assistance with daily life. The work is practical: washing and dressing, support with medication, meals prepared properly, shopping, housework, and a hand getting out of the house. For some people that is one visit a day and for others it is several. We work on the basis that this is somebody's home and their way of doing things comes first. We ask how they like things done, we agree times that suit them, and we keep to those times. We aim to send the same small group of workers, because a familiar face is easier to let in and a worker who knows someone spots early when they are unwell. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. While that is so, we would rather you tested us with direct questions than took our word for anything: how we recruit and train, who checks on our staff, what happens when a visit is delayed and who answers the phone out of hours.
