About Crossroads in East
We are Crossroads in East Lancashire, based in Burnley and supporting people in their own homes across the area. We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to live independently. A great deal of our work involves supporting people who are themselves looking after a relative. Family carers keep going for years with very little relief, and a reliable few hours in which somebody else takes over is often what allows that arrangement to hold together. We take that side of the work as seriously as anything else we do. Support otherwise ranges from a short daily call to several visits covering personal care, medication, meals and help getting out and about. Wherever a person can still do something themselves, we support them to carry on rather than taking it over. We keep the same carers with the same households as far as the rota allows, train our staff for the work they actually do, and stay in contact with district nurses, GPs and social workers. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to talk about what would help.
