About Rathbone Outreach
We provide support at home and in the community across Lambeth, working with adults who have learning disabilities, autistic people, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people whose difficulties involve alcohol or drugs. Our work is about helping people build and keep hold of a life of their own. In practice that means the unglamorous things that make independence possible: managing a tenancy, keeping appointments, dealing with letters and money, getting to work, college or a training course, shopping and cooking, and having someone alongside when a situation feels beyond facing alone. For some people the priority is staying well and recognising early when things are slipping. For others it is doing more than they have been able to do before. We start by asking what somebody wants their life to look like, rather than arriving with a plan. We also try to keep the same staff working with the same people, because this kind of support depends almost entirely on trust, and trust does not survive a procession of new faces. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can reach. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for support of this kind, please get in touch and we will be honest about whether we are the right fit.
