About Holistic Community Care
We are Holistic Community Care, based in Lambeth, and we provide care in people's own homes across south London. The people we visit are a wide group: older people, many living with dementia, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, younger adults, and people dealing with problems with alcohol or drugs. Working across that range means no standard package would do, so we do not offer one. Support begins with a conversation about how life actually is now, what has become difficult, what somebody wants to keep doing for themselves, and what would genuinely help. The plan comes from that and gets revised as circumstances move. In much of our work the most valuable thing we provide is steadiness. Turning up when we said we would. Noticing when something has shifted. Not treating a difficult week as a crisis, and not judging anybody for it. For people in recovery and for those living with mental ill health, that reliability often counts for more than any particular task we carry out. London can be isolating as well as convenient, and for some of the people we visit our carer is the main person they will see that day. We take that seriously, and we keep the same carers with the same households wherever we can. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
