About Ethos Care Family Services
We provide support at home in Lambeth and the surrounding part of London, working with older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Our work falls into two broad parts, and we do not pretend they are the same thing. For older people it usually means help with daily life so that somebody can stay in the house they know: washing and dressing, support with medication, meals, shopping and keeping on top of things. For younger adults it is more often about building a life of their own. Managing a tenancy, getting to work, college or something they enjoy, handling money, keeping appointments and taking part in life beyond the front door. Families often have a large part in this, and we try to work with them rather than around them, while keeping clear that it is the person we support whose wishes come first. We also try hard to send the same staff consistently, since trust takes time to build and a procession of new faces undoes it quickly. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can call on. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
