About Dignity Domiciliary Care
Dignity Domiciliary Care supports people in their own homes across Lambeth and the surrounding parts of London. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia and with people who have physical disabilities. The word in our name is not decoration. A great deal of home care involves helping with things that people have managed privately all their adult lives, and how that help is given determines whether someone feels supported or diminished. Our carers are expected to ask before they act, to explain what they are doing, to let people do for themselves whatever they still can, and to treat a home as a home rather than a workplace. Practically, that covers help with washing and dressing, support with medication, meals, light domestic tasks and getting out and about. Visits are arranged around the person's own routine as far as the rota allows, and we try to keep the same carers going to the same households so that relationships have a chance to form. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are starting to think about care for yourself or a relative, we are happy to have an unhurried conversation about what would actually help before anything is arranged.
