About Fixby Healthcare
We are Fixby Healthcare in Huddersfield, and we support people in their own homes across Kirklees. The people we visit are a varied group. Older people, including many living with dementia. Younger adults finding their footing with support that comes and goes as they need it. People with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and people recovering from or living with an eating disorder, where patience, consistency and a complete absence of judgement matter more than anything we could put in a leaflet. Support is agreed with the person before it starts. We ask what the day looks like, what already works, and where help would actually help, and we build the visits around that rather than around a standard package. Help might cover personal care, medication, meals, mobility, shopping or simply keeping company and keeping an eye on how someone is doing. We are open about where we stand at present. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have looked closely at what was raised and those areas are our focus now, and we would rather tell you that plainly than let you find it out later. We are glad to discuss the detail with anyone weighing us up. If you are trying to work out what support your family needs, ring us. We will give you a straight answer, including if we think someone else would suit you better.
