About Cathedral House
Cathedral House provides care and support to people in their own homes in Huddersfield and the surrounding area. The people we work with include older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. That is a wide range of need, and what holds it together is that we start from the person rather than from a package we happen to offer. We visit first, listen properly, and agree what help is wanted, how often and who will provide it, with family or an advocate involved whenever somebody wants them there. Reliability is the substance of this work. Arriving when we said we would, with somebody who already knows the household, is worth more than anything we could claim here. So we keep teams small and local, brief staff properly before they start with somebody new, and avoid unannounced substitutions. For autistic people and people with learning disabilities we give notice of change well in advance and learn how each person prefers to communicate. For people living with dementia we keep the same small team visiting and work at their pace. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we work alongside their community team. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about support for yourself or a relative.
