About Valley Care - & East Riding

Valley Care provides support in people's own homes across Hull and the East Riding. We visit older adults and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with mental health needs, people living with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss. The range is broad because people are, and because most of those we support do not fit into a single category. Somebody may be living with dementia and also managing poor eyesight, or dealing with a physical disability alongside a mental health condition. We would rather take the whole of that in than support one part of it well and the rest badly. In practice our visits cover personal care, prompting or giving medication, meals, laundry and housework, shopping, and getting out to appointments or to see people. We agree the pattern with the person, we write down what was agreed, and we keep to it. Covering a large area asks for good planning. We build rotas that let people see familiar faces rather than whoever happens to be free, and we tell people promptly when something must change instead of leaving them wondering. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support at home.
