We provide care in people's own homes across Hull and the surrounding area. Our work is to make staying at home workable for people who need a hand, with support arriving reliably and at the times agreed. Most of the people we visit are older and want help with the practical business of the day: washing and dressing, getting breakfast, taking medication properly, keeping on top of the housework and getting out to the shops or an appointment. We also support people with a physical disability, including safe help with moving and transfers, and younger adults who need support to live independently. We keep teams small around each person. It is better for the person, who is not forever meeting strangers, and better for us, because carers who know somebody well spot changes early and can raise them before they turn into a crisis. Everything starts with a home visit and a proper conversation about what is actually needed, what the person would rather manage alone and what family are already doing.
