Our purpose is to make home a place where somebody can be properly looked after, so that moving elsewhere remains a choice rather than an inevitability. The people we support have a wide range of needs. Older adults who need help with personal care, medication, meals and staying safe at home. People living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than anything else. Adults with a learning disability or autism, where the point is to build confidence at the person's own pace. People living with mental health conditions, where a steady relationship and early recognition of changes count for most. People with physical disabilities, and people with a visual or hearing impairment, where we adapt how we assist and how we communicate so that nobody is spoken about rather than spoken to. We also support people living with eating disorders and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse, without judgement and at the pace they set, and younger adults whose weeks revolve around work, study and family. We keep the group of workers visiting each person as small and consistent as we can. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission.
