Communication takes real effort and we treat it as a skill rather than an assumption. We learn how each person expresses themselves, we keep routines predictable, we give warning of change and we pay attention to early signs that a day is going badly. Staff continuity matters enormously in this kind of work, so we keep teams small and consistent wherever we can.
