We arrange visits around the routines somebody already has rather than around what suits a rota, and we aim to keep the same carers going to the same people. We support older people who need help with the everyday tasks that have become harder, and people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than anything written down. We work with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions and people living with a physical disability. We also support younger adults, whose priorities are often about getting on with ordinary life rather than being kept safe indoors. In a large city people can easily become isolated, and we think good home care does something about that rather than simply working through a list of tasks. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. Until we do, judge us on whether visits happen as agreed and whether we are easy to reach.
