We begin with a visit at home and a straightforward conversation about what would actually help, and about what somebody intends to carry on doing for themselves. The plan is agreed together and changes as life changes rather than when a review date arrives. Where somebody is living with an eating disorder we are patient at mealtimes, we do not make a performance of it, and we record what is actually eaten rather than what was offered. In a busy part of London continuity takes real planning, so we keep rounds tight enough that the same carers can return to the same people. Many households we work in use more than one language and we match carers accordingly where we can. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
