About Helping Hands

Helping Hands Luton provides care and support in people's own homes in Luton and the surrounding area. Most people would far rather stay where they are than move, and our work is to make that a safe and dependable arrangement. We support older adults with the everyday things that have become harder: personal care, medication, meals, keeping the house in order and getting out when they want to. We support people living with dementia, where a familiar face arriving at an expected time does more good than any amount of organised activity. We work with people who have physical disabilities, helping with washing, dressing and mobility in a way that leaves the person deciding how it is done, and with people who have a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we announce ourselves, speak and explain what we are about to do. We support younger adults too, whose care is planned around work, study, family and independence rather than a standard pattern. We keep the number of different workers visiting each person as small as we can manage, because familiarity lets people relax and lets us notice when something has changed. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Please contact us and ask us anything you want to know before deciding.
