About Pride of care
Pride of Care supports people in their own homes in and around Cambridge. We work with adults living with dementia and with people who have a physical disability, helping them to carry on living where they want to live. Home care only works when it fits the person, so we start by listening rather than by offering a package. We ask how someone likes their day to run, what they still manage well themselves and where a hand would genuinely help, then we write that down in plain language and follow it. As needs change we review and adjust rather than carrying on as before. Visits can cover personal care, medication, preparing meals, household tasks, shopping, getting to appointments and simply spending time with someone. Where a physical disability is part of the picture we make sure our carers are trained in the specific equipment and techniques involved, because competence there is a matter of comfort as well as safety. For people living with dementia, familiarity does much of the work, so we keep the team around each person small and the visit times consistent. Carers who know somebody well notice the small changes that matter. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We say so plainly and are glad to explain how we work. Please get in touch.
