Somebody rebuilding their life after a period of heavy drinking needs something quite unlike somebody in the later stages of dementia, and each deserves an arrangement actually built for them. We listen first, agree it in plain language, and revisit it honestly rather than leaving it in a folder. Where the work is sensitive we go carefully and without judgement. Recovery rarely runs in a straight line, and being dependable on the difficult weeks is most of what we are useful for. We work alongside health teams and specialist services rather than duplicating them. The rest of what we do is more everyday: personal care, medication, meals, mobility, household jobs, shopping, appointments and company, from carers the household already knows. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We are happy to be asked directly about our training and staffing.
