About Lotus Home Care
Lotus Home Care provides support at home for people in Halifax and across Calderdale. Our carers visit people in their own houses, helping with the parts of the day that have become difficult while leaving the rest alone. Most of the people we visit are older and many are living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Everything starts with a conversation in your own home about your routine, your preferences and where help would make the biggest difference. We write the plan from that and we go back to it as things change. A visit might involve personal care, help with medication, preparing a meal, shopping and housework, getting out to an appointment, or simply company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. We try hard to keep the same small group of carers going to the same people, because a familiar face at the door changes the character of the whole visit, particularly for somebody living with dementia. We treat that as the standard we are expected to hold rather than something to put in a leaflet, and we keep asking the people we visit and their families whether we are doing what we promised.
