About Hova House
Hova House provides care at home to adults in Hove and across Brighton and Hove. We visit older people who need help to keep living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who need support to live independently. What we do depends on the person. It might be half an hour first thing to help somebody wash, dress and get the day started, or several longer calls covering personal care, medication, cooking, laundry and shopping. For some people the most valuable part of a visit is getting out of the house, or simply having somebody look in. For people living with dementia, home is often the one thing keeping them settled, and that makes continuity essential rather than merely desirable. The same carers arriving at the same times will do more good than anything else we could offer, so we plan rotas around that rather than around convenience. For people with a physical disability we pay attention to equipment, moving and handling done properly, and above all to allowing enough time, since rushing is where both dignity and safety go. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are arranging support at home locally, please get in touch and we will talk it over.
