About Harrow
We are a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Brent and the surrounding parts of London, working mainly with adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, and with younger adults. Support at home works best when it is built around what a person actually wants their life to look like, so that is where we start rather than with a list of tasks. For some people that means practical help with cooking, budgeting, appointments and paperwork. For others it is about getting out to work, college, a club or something purely for enjoyment. For many it is being alongside somebody while they learn to manage something for themselves for the first time, and then stepping back as their confidence grows. We ask what a good week would look like for the person, not what they cannot do. Plans are agreed with them, involve family or an advocate where that is wanted, and are reviewed properly as things change. Our staff are checked before they start, trained for the work they do and supported by managers who know the people we work alongside. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking into support at home in this part of London, please get in touch. We are happy to meet, explain how things work and be honest about whether we would be the right fit.
