About First Homecare - North
We are a home care agency working across north London, supporting people in their own homes. The people we visit include older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Our work is the practical business of making home manageable. That may be a morning call to help someone get up, wash and dress and take their medication, or several visits a day where more support is needed, or help with meals, shopping, housework and getting out to appointments. We agree the arrangement with the person and those they want involved, and we revise it when circumstances change rather than leaving an old plan in place. Continuity is what we work hardest at. In a city where people often see a different carer each week, we try to send the same staff to the same households, because familiarity is what allows somebody to spot that a person is unwell or unhappy. Our carers are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach a senior colleague at any time. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would sooner tell you that ourselves. We are working through the issues the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering us. If you are looking into care at home, please get in touch for an honest conversation.
