About Abbeyfield Grove House - DCA
We provide care at home in Ilkley and the surrounding area, supporting older people, including those living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Much of our work is with people living in their own flats and houses who need a hand to carry on doing so comfortably. That may be help with washing and dressing, support with medication, a hand with meals, or the kind of regular contact that means somebody is never left to cope alone with a difficult day. Because we see people where they already live, we notice things no assessment would record: that the post has not been opened, that somebody is eating less, that a person who usually chats has gone quiet. We take continuity seriously. The same familiar staff visiting means somebody does not have to keep explaining themselves, and it means we notice early when a person is unwell, in pain or low in spirits. Where sight or hearing is poor, small habits matter: saying who you are on coming in and leaving things where they were put. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and are supported by senior colleagues they can turn to. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you would like to know more about the support we offer, please get in touch.
