About Your Life
Your Life supports people in their own homes in Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding parts of Birmingham. Our visits range from a short morning call through to several hours a day. We help with getting up and going to bed, washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and housework, and we spend time with people simply for the company, which for someone living alone can matter as much as anything practical. Supporting a person with dementia at home takes patience and consistency. We keep the same carers going to the same households wherever we can, we learn how someone likes things done, and we work with the routine and the surroundings that already make sense to them rather than trying to impose new ones. Families often need support too, and we make time for those conversations. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather tell a family early that we are concerned about someone than wait until a crisis forces the issue, and we are honest when we think the level of support needs to increase.
