About Carers Centre
Barnet Carers Centre provides care and support to people in their own homes in Barnet and the surrounding part of London. A great deal of our work exists because of the people who do the caring unpaid. Families and friends provide an enormous amount of support, usually without much recognition, and they cannot keep going indefinitely without a break. By providing reliable support in the home, we make it possible for somebody to carry on living where they are while the person who usually looks after them gets some time back. Practically, our visits cover the ordinary business of the day: help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medicines, preparing meals and making sure they are eaten, keeping on top of the household and the shopping, and support to get out to appointments or simply to see people. We agree the arrangement with the person and with the family, because in this situation both perspectives matter and they are not always the same. We keep the team small so faces stay familiar, we turn up when we said we would, and we tell you promptly when something has to change. If we think the support needed is more than we can properly provide, we will say so. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
- Covers approximately 10 miles
