Day to day the work covers washing and dressing, prompting and administering medication, cooking meals people actually want, shopping, laundry and housework, help to get out to appointments and to see other people, and time given to genuine company. For those living with dementia we hold routines and faces steady, because unfamiliarity unsettles people far more than any task does. We keep rounds tight across the borough so calls arrive when they should, and we keep the team going into a household small. Our carers train before they work alone, are supervised in people's homes afterwards and are expected to raise concerns the same day.
