We provide care at home in Barking and the surrounding area, visiting people in their own houses so that daily life can carry on much as it always has. Our starting point is a conversation about how someone actually lives and where the difficulties lie, not a standard package that people are expected to fit into. We support older people, including those living with dementia, and we work hard to send the same carers, because familiarity settles a day in a way that nothing else manages. We also support people living with mental health needs, where reliability and a calm manner count for more than anything technical, people with a physical disability, helping with mobility, personal care and the practical jobs that have become awkward, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support at home. Visits range from a short morning call through to several calls a day covering personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and company. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission.
