About Redwood House Residential Home
Redwood House is a residential home for older people near Birmingham, in Worcestershire. We are a house rather than an institution, and we would like the people who live here to feel that it is theirs. Our care is residential rather than nursing. We help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, calling in community health professionals whenever something more clinical is needed. We support residents living with dementia, and the things we rely on are unglamorous and effective: familiar staff, a routine that stays the same, food people recognise and reassurance repeated as often as it is wanted. We care for residents with physical disabilities and those with a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we communicate and how we help people move about so that dignity and independence are protected. Respite stays are available too, giving family carers a genuine rest and letting a prospective resident spend time here before any permanent decision is made. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat that as a standard to hold rather than a badge to point at. If you are considering Redwood House for a relative, please come during an ordinary day, meet the people who live here and make up your own mind.
