About Woodland Grove
Woodland Grove is a residential care home in Birkenhead, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Respite stays are part of what we do. There are few enough people living here that nobody is known only on paper. Staff pick up a change of mood without being told, and the household bends to suit its members. People choose their own rooms, share properly in the shopping and the meals, and have a hand in how the place runs. Where somebody can do a thing themselves, our job is to make it possible rather than to do it faster on their behalf. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to leave that out and hope it goes unnoticed. We accept the findings, we are working through them, and we will not pretend in a paragraph that everything is resolved. If you are considering this home for somebody, please visit unannounced, spend time with the people who live here, talk to relatives, and press us on what has changed and what has not yet.
