About 39 Hawthorne Grove
Our home on Hawthorne Grove in Trowbridge is a residential care home for adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss, including many younger adults. It is a house on an ordinary street and we run it as a home. Support is planned individually. Some of our residents need help with most parts of the day, including personal care and help to move about safely. Others need very little of that but rely on us for routine, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what they find overwhelming. We take our time working that out and we ask the people who know somebody well. Everyday life covers the ordinary business of a household: cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room how you like it, deciding what to do at the weekend and getting out locally. We support people to do what they can for themselves, even when that takes longer. The right equipment and training are in place for residents with physical support needs, and where there is sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Respite stays are available and give family carers a genuine break. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
