About Inwood House
Inwood House is a residential care home in Salisbury for older people, including those living with dementia, adults with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and whatever else has become difficult, and we leave people in charge of the rest. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and take time to work out what lies behind a change in mood. For residents with mental health needs, a calm household and staff who know a person well enough to notice a change matter more than anything written in a plan, and we work with local services and doctors. Where there is a physical disability the right equipment is in place, and for residents with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want. Respite stays are available for family carers needing a break. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.
