About Forestview
Forestview is a residential care home near Marlborough supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We are a household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a genuine say in how their home is run. Support is planned around the individual. Some of the people here need help with most parts of the day; others need very little practical help but rely on us for routine, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what they find overwhelming. We take our time at the start, and we ask the people who know a person best rather than relying on paperwork. Daily life means the ordinary things: helping with meals, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room how you like it, choosing what to do at the weekend and getting out into the local area and the countryside around us. We support people to do as much for themselves as they can and want to, and we step in where we are genuinely needed. Our staff are trained for the people they actually support, including communication and positive ways of responding when somebody is distressed, and we keep the team consistent because familiarity does more good than any care plan. Respite stays are available and can give a family carer a real break while the person has a proper stay with us. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see the house.
