About Ordinary Life Project Association - 12 Addington Close
We are a small residential home on Addington Close in Devizes, supporting adults with a range of needs. The people who live here include older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. What we are trying to run is an ordinary life in an ordinary house, which is harder than it sounds and worth the trouble. Everyone has their own room arranged how they like it, and the week is worked out between the people who live here and the staff supporting them: what is cooked, when the shopping happens, who wants to go out and where to. Support is built around what each person wants to be able to do, and around what they want kept the same. For some that means work, college or volunteering. For others it is getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff, or simply having people around who understand how they communicate. Where somebody needs help with personal care or health, we give it without taking over more of the task than is necessary. Consistency counts for a great deal, so we keep staffing as settled as we can. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
