About Staveley House
Staveley House is a residential care home in Dalton in Furness, caring for older people who can no longer manage safely at home. We aim for the atmosphere of a household rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a genuine say in how their day goes. We support people living with dementia, and that work depends on continuity above all. Knowing what somebody's day used to look like, keeping as much of it as we can and understanding what lies behind distress rather than simply managing it is what makes the difference between a settled day and a difficult one. Respite stays are available too, whether somebody needs care for a short period after illness or a family carer needs a proper break. We plan short stays with the same attention as a permanent move, so nobody arrives feeling temporary. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. That is reassuring, though the better test is whether people who live here seem settled and whether relatives feel able to raise something with us early rather than saving it up. Please come and see us.
