Here at Abbotsfield Residential Care Home in Barrow in Furness, we provide a warm and homely environment where older adults can live with comfort, dignity and genuine support. We also support residents with physical disabilities, making sure the environment and the way we work fits around each person rather than the other way around. For families who need a short break, or for individuals who need time to recover or simply try out living with us before making a longer term decision, we also offer respite care. We find this is often a helpful first step for people who are uncertain about residential care, and we always do our best to make a short stay feel just as settled and personal as a longer one. What matters most to us is that Abbotsfield feels like home. We take time to get to know each resident properly, understanding their routines, preferences and the small things that make a difference to their day. Our team is local to Barrow in Furness and the wider Westmorland and Furness area, and many of us have been part of this community for a long time.
