About Heaton House Residential Care Home
Heaton House Residential Care Home is in Worthing, West Sussex. We are a permanent home to older people, many of whom are living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. We help with the things that have become difficult: getting washed and dressed, moving about safely, medication given properly and on time, eating and drinking well, and having somebody nearby through the night. Where dementia is part of the picture it shapes the whole house rather than one corner of it. We keep the day recognisable, keep familiar staff around people, let residents hold on to their own belongings and habits, and sit with somebody who is upset instead of trying to talk them out of it. Food is cooked here and people are asked what they would like rather than told what there is. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, the seafront is close enough for a trip out, and families visit whenever they can and are welcome at mealtimes. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with that and aware it has to be earned again every week. We would still rather you came and formed your own view, so please arrange to visit and talk to whoever is on duty.
