Safe
People and relatives told inspectors they felt the service was safe. Inspectors found people were protected from the risk of abuse because staff understood how to identify and report it.
Effective
Inspectors found staff felt well supported and were appropriately trained. Staff supported people to eat and drink, and followed guidance from care plans and health professionals where people had special dietary needs. People's capacity was considered in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the provider was meeting the requirements of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Caring
Relatives told inspectors, and inspectors saw, that staff were attentive, kind and respectful. Inspectors found people's individuality and important relationships were respected.
Responsive
Inspectors found care and support was personalised and met people's diverse needs. People and their relatives were included in assessing needs and developing care plans. A range of social activities was offered daily, and people received end of life care that respected their wishes when they needed it.
Well-led
Inspectors found the provider's quality checks were not consistently robust in recording medicines guidance. Staff did not always have detailed guidance for giving prescribed or 'as required' medicines, but this did not affect people's wellbeing. The checks also did not always ensure that records of people's capacity to make specific decisions were complete, for example where capacity may change.

People and relatives told inspectors they felt listened to, and that concerns they raised were dealt with in a timely way. Feedback showed they were satisfied and felt the home was well led.
