About Waterhaven Place Care Home
There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from managing at home when managing has become too hard. A lot of the people who come to Waterhaven Place have been living with that for a while, and the first thing we try to give them is the sense that somebody else is carrying the weight now. We are a residential care home in Chichester. We support older people, including those living with dementia, and people with physical disabilities or with sight or hearing loss. Younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting are welcome as well. Everything here is built around ordinary life. Getting up when you are ready. Having something on your plate that you actually wanted. Keeping your own belongings, your own habits and your own opinions about the television. Where somebody can do a thing themselves, we support rather than take over, because independence given away is difficult to get back. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the good. The same faces, the same room, the same shape to the day, and staff who neither hurry nor correct. Respite stays are available too, giving a family carer a planned break with proper support in place. Please get in touch if you would like to come and look around.
