About Elmhurst Assisted Living And Care Facilities
Elmhurst Assisted Living is a residential care home in Rugby, Warwickshire. We support older adults and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, and people with mental health needs. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Caring well for a mixed group of people means resisting the temptation to run everything to one pattern. What suits somebody living with advanced dementia is not what suits a younger adult who wants to be out and busy several times a week, and neither should have to live to the other's timetable. We plan around individuals and accept the extra work that involves. Everyone here has their own room and their own belongings, a genuine say in the food and the day, and support with washing, dressing, medication, money and appointments offered rather than imposed. Where a person can do something themselves with time and encouragement, they do, and we make the time. We try to keep the home pointed outwards, so going out, keeping up with family and friends, and holding on to existing interests are part of ordinary life here rather than occasional treats. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are very welcome to come and look round and to talk to the people who live here.
